Technical Specs

Programme Specs:   
Provide Macintosh or Macintosh-compatible PC files
Accepted compression programmes: Winzip, 7-zip, Stuffit, Winrar
Preferred programmes: Photoshop CS2 & CS3, Illustrator CS2 & CS3, Indesign CS2 & CS3, QuarkXPress 5, 6 & 6.5 (6.5 on PC only)

If you are using Illustrator please remember to:
Outline fonts
Ensure pictures are CMYK eps or tif files (these are best for preserving colour and sharpness)
Ensure there is bleed (minimum 1/8", maximum 1/4")
Send fonts and images to the printery along with your document

If you are using Quarkexpress please remember to:
Use collect feature for output function
Ensure pictures are CMYK
Ensure there is bleed (minimum 1/8", maximum 0.5")
Send fonts and images to the printery along with your document

Note:
For jobs coming from the OS 9 platform please contact our prepress department.
If using Freehand, Microsoft Publisher or Microsoft office files please contact us before submitting artwork.

Image Specs:
Save as CMYK
Resolution: 300 dpi in 100% print size
Don't forget bleed!
RGB Images are not recommended. They should be converted to CMYK because the colour can change when converted (remember we print CMYK!).
Avoid jpeg encoding for eps files are, and LZW compression for Tiff files. Always send Photoshop files to the pre-press, even if embedded.

Font Specs:
Always send all fonts used with the job, even if outlined in Illustrator
Ensure to send both the screen font and the printer font to the pre-press
